7 years agoLove this place. Historic site, historic environment. It seems the bartenders connect well with everyone, and you can always ask about some interesting historical facts about tavern. You'll also notice hundreds of silver mugs stored in locked cases along the walls. For $100, you get your own engraved mug to use for discounts, and the money goes to the historical society. This is a great bar to sit and chat, or to drink and read, there's no TV's or loud crowds. You're always taken care of. I believe Tuesday night is Trivia night, it'll be completely packed with a diverse crowd of age groups. Some people come in big groups and bring dinner with them. In the summer, the owner does BBQ in the back every Saturday, where you can buy whatever deliciousness is served and have it right there on the beautiful back porch. As a Texas man, I know my BBQ, and this is amazing, you have to try it. Overall I really like this place, my kind of vibe to relax with a drink and have some good conversation.

year agoNice warm atmosphere. Place is like Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan, also roughly the same age. 1766. Great bartender good stories and great drinks. They do not serve food what so ever.

year agoBeautiful outdoor venue... Bring your own chair, bring your own food or grab food from the bunches of restaurants in the area... Beautiful old building with much of the original architecture preserved. Summer concert series on Wednesdays and Thursdays, rain or shine.

5 years agoThe building itself is like a mini museum, sometimes there is a tour, but there wasn’t one when we were there….must visit if you are in they area.

2 years agoI had the Industrial Wrench Beer and Hubby had a Maker's Mark Manhattan. First time for us in this establishment. I absolutely love it. George Washington Drank here and Martha Washington Slept here. I can't wait to go back when the Warwick Historical Society is giving tours again.

6 years agoBeautiful historic tavern on main street in Warwick. The tavern has a rich history during colonial time period and was visited by George Washington. Inside the decor reflects this period and has plenty of seating areas in a variety of settings including outdoor seating. There were about 8 or so beers on tap when we went and the service was excellent. Will be visiting again when I'm in town.

6 years agoHistorical landmark converted into a local pub with a cool atmosphere and friendly service. A really cool place. And they have something extra that I have never seen before. They have a mug club. Personalized mugs are kept at the location for you and you alone for a fee. Every time you go, the bartender serves you in your own mug. They also have mug nights and mug owners get a discount.

3 years agoA wonderful place to have a drink, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere hospital. The rooms have been extremely well restored. A cabinet sits full of Pewter mugs that you can sign up for - and have your name on it - for a small fee. Lovely light rooms with bay windows that let the light in

6 months agoLOCAL GEM! Step into the history books. Have a beer where George Washington had a beer and his wife stayed overnight! An absolute must see for yourself and your out-of-town visitors. Baird’s was used during the Revolutionary War by local militia, who also used the attic for musket drills when the weather was bad. Does not serve food. So you can bring your own snacks or call them about the Food Truck Schedule. A super unique opportunity to step into the past. Highly recommend.
